Supporting both our Digital Journey initiative and existing IT operations, Plan Canada is looking for a highly motivated and committed team member capable of working in a dynamic environment with time-sensitive requests and multiple work streams running in parallel.

 

The Data Analyst (Finance & Operations) will provide temporary capacity to support key business and technology initiatives currently led by the Operations & Finance analytics team. This role will focus on financial and operational reporting, legacy system support, data migration activities, and stakeholder-facing analytics work.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support Finance and Operations stakeholders through report development, enhancements, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
  • Assist with Finance and GP (Great Plains) data migration and modernization initiatives, including validation, testing, reconciliation, and documentation activities.
  • Maintain and support legacy reporting solutions and recurring business processes, including troubleshooting production issues and investigating data discrepancies.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, SQL queries, and data models to support decision-making.
  • Work with Snowflake, ERP, and operational datasets to improve reporting reliability, traceability, and accessibility.
  • Support user acceptance testing, data validation, and release activities associated with reporting and data platform initiatives.
  • Create and maintain documentation including business rules, data mappings, report specifications, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Technology, Product, and Analytics team members to ensure consistent definitions and trustworthy reporting outputs.
  • Provide overflow support for T&C reporting and other operational analytics priorities as required.

What success looks like?

 

  • Finance and Operations stakeholders receive timely, accurate reporting and analytical support.
  • Critical Finance and GP migration activities are completed with strong data quality and reconciliation controls.
  • Production issues and data discrepancies are investigated and resolved quickly.
  • Reporting assets are documented, maintainable, and aligned with organizational standards.
  • Operational processes become less dependent on manual effort through automation and improved data architecture.
  • Stakeholders have confidence in the accuracy and consistency of reporting outputs.
  • Knowledge is captured and transferred effectively, reducing operational risk.

As our ideal candidate you will have:

 

  • Successfully delivered reporting, analytics, or data migration work supporting Finance, Operations, or similar business functions.
  • Demonstrated experience investigating data quality issues and implementing durable corrective actions.
  • Delivered data models, dashboards, or analytical solutions that improved visibility into business performance and reduced manual effort.
  • Worked effectively across multiple stakeholder groups, translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Contributed to technology modernization, system migration, or reporting transformation initiatives with measurable business impact.
  • Produced clear technical and business documentation that enabled sustainable support and knowledge transfer.
  • Managed multiple competing priorities while maintaining strong accuracy and attention to detail.

 

Technical Environment

 

The following skills are required:

  • Power BI Paginated Reports (RDL) or SQL server Reporting services (SSRS)
  • SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Snowflake
  • Data validation and reconciliation
  • ETL and data integration concepts

 

 

Experience with the following would be considered an asset:

  • Power BI
  • Financial and operational reporting
  • ERP data (GP, SAP, or similar platforms)

Plan International Canada is a hybrid workplace. You will work from the office and from home.  

 

The salary range for this position is anticipated to be between $ 73,000 and $ 91,000. We comprehensively evaluate a variety of factors to determine fair compensation, including experience, specific job-related skills, and relevant educational or professional training. Additionally, we ensure that compensation is equitable across our team and aligns with current market trends. This role also qualifies for an extensive benefits package and generous paid time off.
